expert on business-process improvement with experience in companies
ranging from start-ups to NYSE-listed firms.
Hilary Palmer, MBA, a senior executive, consultant and entrepreneur
was formerly Director of Automation and Tools at one of America 's
largest Internet companies and has spent 15 years managing senior-level
project managers and business/system analysts. She co-founded
Apollo Capital along with Sid Bursten
, her long time friend and mentor, and as Vice President will assist in
both strategic and operational planning to ensure Sid’s vision is
successfully articulated and executed.
Peter Rimel, a licensed attorney in Orange County with over 20 years of experience in real estate and mortgage law, is our General Counsel and also heads up our securities trading division which raises funds to support Apollo Capital's innovative owner-financing operations.
Mike Engel, who has been president, vice president or executive vice president of a variety of home-building firms in Southern California, brings an abundance of knowledge and experience to Apollo Capital in his new role as General Manager. He is expert in property acquisition, construction, sales and marketing, branding, display and training. All director-level management personnel will report directly to him.
Linda MacPherson, who has been vice president and/or director of operations of numerous mortgage companies over her extensive career, brings the detailed knowledge and organizational skills to ensure that all of our purchase, lending, sales and clerical operations are run efficiently, effectively and properly at all times.
Rex Dungan, a certified appraiser not only in California but in Nevada and Utah as well, has been appraising properies for a quarter century, is in charge of ensuring that Apollo Capital pays the proper price for acquired properties and lists them correctly to attain the best price within our lightspeed selling parameters. Rex is also a licensed real estate broker and author of the book, 42 Hands in Your Pocket, which discusses all the professionals that survive off real estate in a conventional market.
Tom Kevane is an experienced finance professional with the ability to tackle complex issues throughout tour company with significant expertise in accounting, finance, and information technologies. He is expert in project management, system conversions, team building, process creation, fraud detection and prevention, people management and cost management.
Read Masson is an experienced general contractor and
construction project manager who has recently managed over 100
reconstruction projects a year for insurance-related fire and water damage,
with a staff of 15 to 20. He has over 20 years experience in
blueprint reading, framing and finish carpentry, plumbing, electrical,
drywall, concrete slabs, footings, stucco and construction
management.
Graham Barker was a long-term building inspector for the City of Los Angeles before becoming an independent
rehabilitation contractor over a dozen years ago. He continues to
inspect and rehabilitate properties throughout the Los Angeles Basin.
Steve Perry is a licensed real estate broker, MLS Realtor and a
real-estate investor for more than 35 years. He has experience in
construction and long term maintenance of multiplex units, construction
of single family houses and remodeling. Steve will be working in the
quality control area of our ComfortReady Homes and other renovation
programs.
Butch Borcherding is a General Contractor and entrepreneur who has
partnered with investors on residential and commercial real estate
projects where he assisted in conceptual designing, budgeting, land
purchases, real estate costs/sales analysis, marketing and construction
management of subcontractors. Previous to that, Butch ran his own
technology company that created network communication systems designed
to integrate with database management systems.

Tom O'Brien is Vice President of National Sales for Apollo Clean Energy Systems.
One of the true prioneers in the solar-energy field, Tom has over 35 years of
corporate leadership as well as founding several successful companies of his own.
He has built several companies from inception to over $300 million in revenues.
Tom leads a national business-development team that is the backbone of Apollo's distribution
and new technology division.
Jon Dougal is Director of Green Initiatives for Apollo Capital Associates LLC, and an
integral part of Apollo Clean Energy Systems.
He directed and specified the first LEED Platinum affordable home in the U.S. for
Habitat for Humanity 2008, as well as founding the USGBC Central California Chapter in 2005.
He serves on many green organizations: Currently Executive Director of the Green Technology Institute,
as well as Executive Director/Founder of the Solar Energy Council, both non-profit energy organizations,
and serves on the Board of Advisors for the Sustainable Furniture Council. Jon’s background
in management includes operating a $32 million a year three-state perishables distributor, and
being operations manager of a large Bay Area HVAC company. This experience informs his roles in
